Kristin Stokely for Center School Board
I am running for school board because I am personally invested in the future of Center 58. I hope this website answers questions you may have about me as a candidate.
Don’t forget to vote early or on April 7th.
About Me
I am a licensed attorney and proud parent of a current Boone Bobcat and a future Boone Bobcat. In 2013 I married a Center alumnus, and in 2017 we chose to move back into the district to raise our family.
I bring more than a decade of public-sector experience to my candidacy. I spent 11 years working for the State of Missouri, where I represented and advised four different boards and commissions. Most recently, I served as General Counsel to the Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development. In that role I served simultaneously as legal counsel to both the State Workforce Development Board and the Coordinating Board for Higher Education. Through this work, I developed a strong understanding of how governing boards function, what drives effective decision-making, and how to ensure boards operate efficiently and responsibly.
My professional background also includes extensive experience with public entity budgets and a clear understanding of the fiduciary duties governing boards hold as stewards of taxpayer dollars.
Outside of my professional life, I enjoy reading, cheering on Kansas City sports teams, and spending time outdoors with my family.
